Another 2 weeks have passed... whew. Gonna TRY to do this every 2-weeks since we all know it was a team effort that got me here and its a team effort that's gonna keep me here & take me anywhere else God intends for me to go.
What I've Learnt (this time):
1. I am aging ... dont seh nutten, jus shaddap
2. Don't ever get sick here (or anywhere really), you cannot afford it. Ur money is better suited for other things.
3. Sonja hates bananas... really tho, who hates bananas? how do u hate bananas? bananas are the boss, long live bananas!
4. WE (nuff a wi) walk by faith, not by sight. So-so blind ppl to mi ting. Holla @Dominic, Vennassa, Kayon, Carl, chin up family, God's got it. We keep smiling
5. The answer to the question 'is it time for a tastee patty yet?' is always "YES". The struggle is real!
6. Having money is not the key to happiness & peace of mind... but it sure does help.
7. In Jamaica, when i was growing up, the parents ask the kids to go for the pillow for them to watch tv in the living room. Somehow it's, uhm, different here & now.
8. Speaking of the little darlings (& they are, hence the .000001% elbow room in the following), mi 99.999999% convinced now seh mi dont want none. Mi lift mi hat toSonja & Michael for this & many odder tings cause mi sure seh mi nuh have di patience when di chile seh 'but i waaaaaant iiiiiit'. Dat is jus not my gift... LOL, a real ting... ♫ Fix it Jesus!
9. I HAVE THE BEST FRENDZ/FAMILY/FRENMILY IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. I mean ALL of it... the whole thing.
10. The end of January did not disappoint. I've been looking fwd to it all month long. THIS, crowd a ppl, is perfect weather meant for black ppl.
In other news, the award for Best Tag of the Month goes to....(fanfare, drumroll, & all dese tings)... ...
It's a 3-way tie:

The 2-Wk Report
Ok, so, I like to think of myself as someone who doesn't talk a lot but has a lot to say. Upon recommendation of a dear mentor and friend, I'm about to start this blog! I'm thinking it's only fair for me to give a tuups of background on me tho. Really, ur bored (or idle) enough to read up to here... it's only fair.
Ok, so dis is me: I'm C.K. Rene Brown, "CKReB" (not a flattering word btw, for any non-Ja'cans reading but who cares really). I recently left my beautiful island home Jamaica to pursue studies at Oakwood University, AL. I'm an adult learner in a young ppl's world- i like to think i'm young at heart- wishful thinking till muscle pain and old age fatigue start tek mi. You'll learn more about me as time goes on I'm sure.
This blog is intended primarily for updating the cheering squad on what's happening as it's happening, truthfully tho, i'm so random that anything could happen here. My cheering squad is the boss btw, I LOVE my home-church family around the world like nothing else I can think of. As soon as i can, i'm putting all y'all on a payroll of some type. Your support has been tremendously encouraging. If there is ever a day I think this is too much, dat devil's lie quickly get mash dung b4 mi can seh 'eh'. - KENCOT SDA to mi ting! Other extended family, di love nuh diluted at all! All kinda degrees of love mi a shoob out fi unnu too.
I'm beginning to think I'll need to put a J'can patois dictionary (my version of it) as a footnote here-anyhoo, i digress, forgive me.
I never really thought of doing this b4 so we'll see how it goes... could be fun right?
Ok, here goes:
THINGS I'VE LEARNT... & Re-Learnt (The 2-Wk Report)

7. i can do all things because Christ gives me strength
8. i miss my friends (caw u know how we go haad) but its nowhere near as detrimental as one would think. i think it's cause i'm a loner by nature so i'm pretty much ok... time will tell tho.

10. going to warm places in ur mind does not work. they lied.
11. i really believe that i'm God's favorite (as we all are).
